We are delighted to hear that Radley Troy will be participating in The Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). After having completed a few hiking trips lasting 6-8 days in Europe and the UK, taking on a 2,650 mile, 5 month, self-supported thru-hike of the PCT was the next natural progression for Radley. The trail starts from the Mexican border in California and culminates at the Washington border with Canada, and typically takes 150 days to complete.
The notion had been taking shape in Radley’s mind for quite some time. Thus, while he is genuinely passionate about accomplishing it, it also presents a remarkable chance to raise support and spread awareness for the Charlie Watkins Foundation – a cause that is close to Radley’s heart. For Radley, Charlie’s legacy is one of boundless joy, compassion, and camaraderie. In his honour, Radley strives every day to improve his empathy towards those around him and to communicate his own struggles more effectively. This is why the Charlie Watkins Foundation is deeply meaningful to Radley, as it embodies the values that Charlie embodied and helps others in need.
In the event that Radley doesn’t fall prey to a bear or get converted into a Scientologist (which seems to be his mother’s biggest concern), you can keep tabs on his journey by following him on Instagram at @radleygoeswalkabout or @charliewatkinsfoundation where he intends to post brief weekly updates.
To ensure that Radley finishes the challenge before the onset of heavy snowfall in Washington State, he must maintain an average of at least 17.5 miles of walking per day. Moreover, he will have to bear the weight of all his equipment needed for camping and survival along the route while occasionally passing through or stopping by towns to restock on food and fuel.

Naturally, if Radley manages to surpass the fundraising goal, all the funds raised will be utilised to aid the complete spectrum of incredible support services that the foundation is associated with.
We wish him all the best and can’t wait to see his progress along the way.
